Brochures are multi-page promotional products, composed of an exact number of pages (8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28), used for placing promotional products, sorted and valid for a specific period. Usually, the pages of brochures, together with the soft cover, are stapled in the middle with 1, 2, or 3 staples, depending on your choice. The available sizes are:

·         A4 (210x297mm)

·         A5 (148x210mm)

·         A6 (105x148mm)

What is the most common size for brochures? – For brochures, the most commonly used formats are A4 (210x297mm) and A5 (148x210mm) due to their compactness and quantity.

How many staples will be needed for the body of the brochure? – The number of staples for the spine of the body depends on the number of pages and your preference for maximum durability of the brochure. Brochures with 1 staple are used for 4-8 pages because the volume is minimal, and the body structure is strong enough.

Brochures with 2 staples are used for 12-16 pages, providing enough volume and structure for durability.

Brochures with 3 staples are used for 20-24 pages due to the maximum volume requiring additional support for durability.

What type of paper is suitable for brochures? – According to your preferences for distribution and quantity of brochures, we recommend double-sided coated papers of 115, 130, and 150 gsm.

What is the difference between the cover and the body of a brochure? – The cover represents the first and last page of the brochure, while the inner pages are the body. The cover can be made of different paper from the body (the remaining inner pages). We advise choosing the cover paper to be either the same as the body or with a higher weight (for example, a body with 115 gsm coated matte and a cover with 130 gsm coated matte).

Before sending your file for printing, you need to follow a few requirements. Regardless of the design program you use, when exporting or saving the file, pay attention to:
  • Color – When exporting, select CMYK as the color model;
  • Resolution – The file resolution should be at least 96 or ideally 300 dpi;
  • File – Preferably export in PDF or, if there is an issue, also in JPG, PNG, TIFF, EPS;
  • Text – The font size should be at least 8 pt to be readable on the print. Let's act boldly!
  • Lines – Minimum line thickness of 0.5 pt (1/2 pt) to be visible on the print;
  • Printable area – When printing and cutting to the exact size with an outline, leave at least 2 mm on each side of the image background to avoid a white border upon cutting or affecting the design. Keep in mind that the cutting line should be along the entire length of the print and be visually visible 2 mm inside (with a distinguishable color from the print – e.g., a yellow outline on a dark background).
