Catalogs are multi-page products, created for your business needs. They can consist of up to and over 48 pages (8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48... pages, in multiples of 4) and are used to organize named, product, or price listings. The pages of the catalogs, together with the soft cover, are glued with thermal glue. The available sizes are:

·         A4 (210x297mm)

·         A5 (148x210mm) portrait or landscape

·         A6 (105x148mm)

* Please note the number of pages and the paper's weight, which determine the thickness of the body. Based on these elements, the spine of the catalog (the middle of the pages) varies from 1 mm to 10 mm. When placing a logo or text on the spine, its placement and size will matter.

What is the most common size for catalogs? – The most commonly used format for catalogs is A4 (210x297mm) and A5 (148x210mm).

How many pages should a catalog have? – For maximum impact, it is recommended that a catalog consists of 32-48 pages. This volume is standard and elegant.

What is the recommended paper for the body and cover of catalogs? – We recommend choosing paper for the body between 130-150 gsm coated matte/glossy with a 250 gsm coated matte cover.

How is the cover glued to the body? – Thermal glue is used, which, when heated, is applied to the spine of the pages and adheres them together with the cover.

Before sending your file for printing, you need to follow a few requirements. Regardless of the design program you use, when exporting or saving the file, pay attention to:
  • Color – When exporting, select CMYK as the color model;
  • Resolution – The file resolution should be at least 96 or ideally 300 dpi;
  • File – Preferably export in PDF or, if there is an issue, also in JPG, PNG, TIFF, EPS;
  • Text – The font size should be at least 8 pt to be readable on the print. Let's act boldly!
  • Lines – Minimum line thickness of 0.5 pt (1/2 pt) to be visible on the print;
  • Printable area – When printing and cutting to the exact size with an outline, leave at least 2 mm on each side of the image background to avoid a white border upon cutting or affecting the design. Keep in mind that the cutting line should be along the entire length of the print and be visually visible 2 mm inside (with a distinguishable color from the print – e.g., a yellow outline on a dark background).
