The menu is an element that highlights the concept of your dining establishment. It should have carefully selected colors and order of dishes/products. Depending on the concept of your venue, you can choose paper, laminate, additional coatings for a more refined look, as well as the appropriate size. The menu is available in several sizes, including the specialized size DL 99x210mm (folded into two folds from an A4 sheet), which allows for Z-fold and C-fold. The standard sizes available for single folding are:

·         A4 (210x297mm)

·         A5 (148x210mm)

We also offer non-standard sizes with a longer side without folding – 70x150mm and 100x250mm.

Your customers won't be able to resist the temptation!

What size is suitable for a menu? – The most commonly used sizes for menus are DL 99x210mm and A4 (210x297mm, unfolded A3) with one fold.

What is the size DL 99x210mm? – The size DL 99x210mm is an A4 sheet folded into two folds in the shape of a letter Z or C (folded into three equal parts from A4). This size is primarily used for brochures and menus and is recommended to be printed double-sided to contain more information for your business needs.

What paper is suitable for a menu? – The paper suitable for a menu is double-sided chrome matte/gloss 170-250 grams. When adding a laminate, we recommend opting for 250-350 grams chrome matte/gloss to maintain the coating.

Why does the DL size have 6 sides while single folding has 4 sides? – The reason for the number of sides in these sizes is the folding. The DL size is folded into two folds, but they form wings that overlap in a Z (the sides are counted as internal and external, forming 3 external and 3 internal sides, a total of 6). While with single folding, we have 4 sides, as there are 2 internal and 2 external sides.

Before sending your file for printing, you need to follow a few requirements. Regardless of the design program you use, when exporting or saving the file, pay attention to:
  • Color – When exporting, select CMYK as the color model;
  • Resolution – The file resolution should be at least 96 or ideally 300 dpi;
  • File – Preferably export in PDF or, if there is an issue, also in JPG, PNG, TIFF, EPS;
  • Text – The font size should be at least 8 pt to be readable on the print. Let's act boldly!
  • Lines – Minimum line thickness of 0.5 pt (1/2 pt) to be visible on the print;
  • Printable area – When printing and cutting to the exact size with an outline, leave at least 2 mm on each side of the image background to avoid a white border upon cutting or affecting the design. Keep in mind that the cutting line should be along the entire length of the print and be visually visible 2 mm inside (with a distinguishable color from the print – e.g., a yellow outline on a dark background).
